The Last Days of Las Vegas
"What if someone nuked your favorite playground?" The Last Days of Las
Vegas is a new political thriller from Roy Hayes, the best-selling author of The
Hungarian Game, which sold over 500,000 copies in 6 languages worldwide, and
earned critical praise from major reviewers at Publishers Weekly, The Times of
London, and others. Hayes has often been compared to John le Carre and Len
Deighton by reviewers and readers.
Fore Love
This must be a MAN'S kind of romance as I have thoroughly enjoyed it from
cover to cover. There are over two hundred pages, as I have formatted it,
and it is suitable for printing out, if you so desire.
Cut from a bygone age when love was LOVE, golf is the background and indeed it is the driving force of this beautiful novel. I'm sure that if I understood the game I would love this book all the more, but even in my complete ignorance I was fascinated with the entire body. Even now I chortle when thinking of the hero driving a whole forty miles and making the trip in less than one day! That must have been some kind of fast autoing.

Sisters of Glass
In Los Angeles, 2030, Karl Latte is an anomaly. In an age when everyone has
a satellite receiver imbedded in his or her body, the burned-out policeman has
no electronic implants. Even so, his ability to read minds makes him the only
man able to rescue Romy, the last survivor of the first batch of genetically
tailored female mates sold by Genesistems corporation. These women, known as
Sisters, have been systematically killed in Platform 66, Genesistem's
impenetrable headquarters off the California coast. Karl rescues Romy, and the
pair go on the lam, with the predictability of their flight somewhat redeemed by
Karl's budding realization that Romy is human. The novel comes to life when the
pursuit grows hotter, with not only Genesistems (whose implants turn out to be
mind-control devices) but a thuggish entrepreneur on the heels of the couple.
St. John (A Terrible Beauty) deals better than most with the implications of the
wealthy achieving a degree of immortality by being able to switch bodies at
will, and the novel's climax is genuinely gripping, even if it is followed by an
implausibly large victory for the forces of virtue. Though St. John's prose is
of only average quality, the novel is an entertaining combination of hard-boiled
action, futuristic romance and speculation about biotechnology.
The Deadliest Strain
What can stand between America and a plague that devours human bodies from
the inside out?
Cases of sudden, unexplained deaths—marked by rapid decomposition—are cropping up across the U.S. Their cause: a supermicrobe that causes flesh-eating disease so aggressive that victims die within an hour and infect dozens more.
Suspecting bioterrorists at work, Homeland Security is willing to bend any rule to find the source of the deadly infection, even if it means resurrecting a "dead" Iraqi biochemist, long held in a CIA ghost prison. The disease's unwitting creator risked her life trying to destroy it. Her sister tried, too, and landed in prison. But time is running out as they search for the one person who might hold the key.…

Perish Twice
Spenser creator Robert B. Parker returns with his newest heroine, Boston
P.I. Sunny Randall, coming to the aid of three very different women in three
very dangerous situations. One is for business. One is for a friend. One is for
family. And all could be fatal...
The Man
The time is 1964. The place is the Cabinet Room of the Where House. An
unexpected accident and the law of succession have just made Douglass Dilman the
first black President of the United States.
This is the theme of what was surely one of the most provocative novels of the 1960s. It takes the reader into the storm center of the presidency, where Dilman, until now an almost unknown senator, must bear the weight of three burdens: his office, his race, and his private life.
From beginning to end, The Man is a novel of swift and tremendous drama, as President Dilman attempts to uphold his oath in the face of international crises, domestic dissension, violence, scandal, and ferocious hostility. Push comes to shove in a breathtaking climax, played out in the full glare of publicity, when the Senate of the United States meets for the first time in one hundred years to impeach the President.

Lauren has a good life: decent grades, great friends, and a boyfriend every girl lusts after. So why is she so unhappy?
It takes the arrival of Evan Kirkland for Lauren to figure out the answer: She's been holding back. She's been denying herself a bunch of things (like sex) because staying with her loyal and gorgeous boyfriend, Dave, is the "right" thing to do. After all, who would give up the perfect boyfriend?
But as Dave starts talking more and more about their life together, planning a future Lauren simply can't see herself in -- and as Lauren's craving for Evan, and moreover, who she is with Evan becomes all the more fierce -- Lauren realizes she needs to make a choice...before one is made for her.

Something, Maybe
I wonder what it would be like to do high school things. To go out on the
weekends. To kiss a guy. To have a normal life. A real one.
Everyone thinks their parents are embarrassing, but Hannah knows she's got them all beat. Her dad made a fortune showcasing photos of pretty girls and his party lifestyle all over the Internet, and her mom was once one of her dad's girlfriends and is now the star of her own website. After getting the wrong kind of attention for way too long, Hannah has mastered the art of staying under the radar...and that's just how she likes it.
Of course, that doesn't help her get noticed by her crush. Hannah's sure that gorgeous, sensitive Josh is her soul mate. But trying to get him to notice her; wondering why she suddenly can't stop thinking about another guy, Finn; and dealing with her parents make Hannah feel like she's going crazy. Yet she's determined to make things work out the way she wants -- only what she wants may not be what she needs....
Once again, Elizabeth Scott has created a world so painfully funny and a cast of characters so heartbreakingly real that you'll love being a part of it from unexpected start to triumphant finish.

Night of the Wolf
Legends of the Wolves, Book 2.
The wolf awoke. He lifted his head from his paws. Above, the moon was full, but only a drifting

passionate Michel des Anges, but his lifelong friend--the mysterious Gabriel, a
man with a past as dark as the London night. Now, renowned author Robin Schone
explores one of her most talked-about characters in a novel that reveals the
blackest secrets of a man's soul...and the explosive heart of a woman's
desire.
Orcs
"Look at me. Look at the Orc." "There is fear and hatred in your eyes. To
you I am a monster, a skulker in the shadows, a fiend to scare your children
with. A creature to be hunted down and slaughtered like a beast in the
fields.
It is time you pay heed to the beast. And see the beast in yourself. I have your fear. But I have earned your respect. Hear my story. Feel the flow of blood and be thankful. Thankful that it was me, not you, who bore the sword. Thankful to the orcs; born to fight, destined to win peace for all."

Some Days You Get the Bear
The bear is on the prowl in many different guises. He may be the
master thief stealing into Graceland, an intense young passenger experimenting
in terror, or a psychiatrist haunted by his patient's nightmare. Or maybe
he's beautiful, lethal woman in a blood-red scarf. So beware of the this
huge, dangerous beast. Because first he will enthrall you.. and then he
will strike.
The Eighth Day: A Thriller
When starving but hopeful 26-year-old artist Danny Cray upgrades his
part-time work as a private investigator to full-time, his blind acceptance of
misinformation coupled with a readiness to plunge headfirst into situations
unknown transform a charming na‹vet‚ and spirit of spontaneity into fatal
shortcomings that threaten to curtail a burgeoning career and endanger his life.
In Case's new thriller (after The Syndrome), Cray embarks on escapades that are
zesty and riveting, moving from the streets of Washington, D.C., to the Vatican
Library to an entire city buried deep under eastern Turkey where a treasured
religious object lies hidden. Ostensibly hired to protect the image of a famous
businessman by discovering who is behind the smear campaign targeting his
client, Cray quickly discovers that he has become involved in an imbroglio far
more sinister than anything he expected; instead of the quick and simple
high-profit, low-risk deal he envisioned, Danny is confronted with suspicious
and terrifying deaths, dangerous technology and evil incarnate. Fast-paced and
crammed with descriptions of experimental devices and potentially devastating
scientific advances, the novel is unfortunately also saddled with repetitive
language, some unrealistic stretches and improbable responses upon which the
story line depends for further action. Still, the pieces fit nicely together and
Case's fourth thriller is a satisfying and gripping read.
The First Horseman
On the Norwegian sea, an icebreaker forges its way through frozen waters to
a remote island in the Arctic, carrying a scientific team that hopes to unearth
the bodies of long-dead miners. Washington Post reporter Frank Daly has the
story of a lifetime. But his plan to join the scientists on their historic
mission is ruined by a ferocious storm. When he meets up with the ship upon its
return to port in Norway, it is clear that something has gone terribly
wrong.
Fear haunts the faces of the crew. No one will talk. And someone wants Daly to stop asking questions. But the more he uncovers, the more dangerous the stakes become. Until at last he comes face-to-face with a shocking secret, a secret that pitches him into a harrowing race to prevent nothing less than . . . apocalypse.

Trance State
The Swiss-based Institute of Global Studies seems like the kind of
philanthropic body any idealistic young scientist would want to work for. But
when Lew McBride gets involved with them, his life takes a horrific turn.
Something terrible is happening in Adrienne Sullivan's life, too. Her sister has
died in mysterious circumstances. The only clues about what might have happened
are locked away in a psychiatrist's files. And when she investigates, she
discovers that the psychiatrist, while no figment of her imagination, doesn't
exist. What is it that connects Lew McBride, Adrienne Sullivan, the psychiatrist
and the Institute together? What takes Adrienne and the psychiatrist on a
terrifying chase across the USA and Europe? Why should the CIA get involved? And
why does the body-count start to rise alarmingly?
Ghost Dancer: A Thriller
From The Genesis Code to The Murder Artist, John Case has established
himself as the master of unrelenting suspense. Now Case choreographs his most
diabolically chilling novel to date, as the very fabric of civilization
threatens to come apart in the hands of a brilliantly vengeful madman.
Photojournalist Mike Burke carried his camera into every war zone and hellhole
on earth–and came back with the pictures (and battle scars) to prove it. He was
flying high until, quite suddenly, he wasn’t. When Burke’s helicopter crashed
and burned in Africa, he came away with his life but lost his heart to the
beautiful woman who saved him. That’s when he decided it was time to stop
dancing with the devil. But a wicked twist of fate puts an end to Burke’s
dreams, leaving him adrift in Dublin with bittersweet memories . . . and no
appetite for danger. But the devil isn’t done with him yet. An ocean away, Jack
Wilson leaves prison burning for revenge. Like Burke, Wilson has had something
taken from him. And he, too, dreams of starting over. Only Wilson’s dream is the
rest of the world’s nightmare. Driven by his obsession with a Native American
visionary, and guided by the secret notebooks of Nikola Tesla, the man who is
said to have “invented the twentieth century,” Wilson dreams of the
Apocalypse–and plans to make it happen. As a terrifying worldwide chain reaction
is set in motion, Burke alone grasps the impending horror of Wilson’s malevolent
plan. With nothing left to lose, Burke pursues an American terrorist–a twisted
genius who journeys from a lawless weapons arsenal in the Transdneister to the
diamond fields of the Congo . . . to an isolated Nevada ranch. It is here, in a
climactic showdown, that a determined Mike Burke faces a nemesis who knows no
fear. John Case is the bestselling author of The Genesis Code, The First
Horseman, The Syndrome, The Eighth Day, and The Murder Artist.
The Murder Artist: A Thriller
The bestselling author of The Genesis Code and The Eighth Day now strikes
his most harrowing chord, with a chilling novel that pushes suspense to nearly
inhuman limits. As a television news correspondent, Alex Callahan has traveled
to some of the most dangerous corners of the globe, covering famine, plague, and
war. He’s seen more than his share of blood and death, and knows what it means
to be afraid. But what he’s never known is the terror that grabs him when, on a
tranquil summer afternoon, he ceases to be an observer of the dark side and, to
his shock, becomes enmeshed in it. Separated from his wife, and struggling not
to become a stranger to his six-year-old twin sons, Alex is logging some
all-too-rare quality time with the boys, when they vanish without a trace amid
the hurly-burly of a countryside Renaissance Fair. Then the phone call comes. A
chilling silence; slow, steady breathing; and the familiar, plaintive voice of a
child–“Daddy?”–complete the nightmare . . . and set in motion a juggernaut of
frenzy and agony. The longer the police search, exhausting leads without
success, the deeper Alex’s certainty grows that time is running out. And when,
at last, telltale signs reveal a hidden pattern of bizarre and ghoulish
abductions, Alex vows to use his own relentless investigative skills to rescue
his children from the shadowy figure dubbed The Piper. Whoever this elusive
stranger is, the profile that slowly emerges–from previous crimes involving
twins, from the zealously secret world of professional magicians, and from the
eerie culture of voodoo–suggests that The Piper is a predator unlike any other.
A twisted soul hell-bent on fulfilling an unspeakably dark dream. A fiend with a
terrifying true calling. What Alex Callahan is closing in on is a monster with a
mission.
Eye of the Beholder
Edgar Award-winner David Ellis shifts gears to deliver a stunning new
thriller where every character has a secret-and every secret has a
price.
David Ellis's In the Company of Liars is an audaciously inventive thriller. In a David Ellis novel, nothing is ever what it seems, and so it is with Eye of the Beholder, a heart-pounding novel filled with dark secrets and the horrific lengths that desperate people will go to keep them.
Renowned attorney Paul Riley has built a lucrative career based on his famous prosecution of Terry Burgos, a serial killer who followed the lyrics of a violent song to gruesomely murder six girls. Now, fifteen years later, the police are confronted with a new series of murders and mutilations. Riley is the first to realize that the two cases are connected-and that the killer seems to be willing to do anything to keep him involved. As the murderer's list of victims becomes less random and more personal, Riley finds himself at the center of a police task force assigned to catch the murderer-as both an investigator and a suspect.
Driven by his own fear that he may have overlooked something crucial during the investigation years ago, Riley must sift through fifteen years of lies in order to uncover the truth-but the killer isn't the only one who wants to keep the past buried. . . .
